I don’t like the new TARDIS interior, but I don’t think we’re supposed to…
It’s dark, it’s clinical, it’s basic, it’s austere, it’s Gallifreyan. But shouldn’t it be? We’re talking about a man who just lost his family. Two people he loved dearly and traveled off and on with for 10 years their time, God knows how long his time. They’re gone, they’re dead and they’re not coming back. He would have wanted to wipe everything away, he probably jettisoned half the rooms in the TARDIS that even reminded him of Amy and Rory. No warm colors, no frivolity, nothing especially welcoming to humans or anyone else. The Doctor is in serious mourning and the TARDIS reflects that. It doesn’t even seem like something he would like. It looks like he’s punishing himself. I think we’re supposed to have a strong reaction to it. I don’t think we’re supposed to like it.
