Because the Iron Cross is a symbol that has been in existence since before fascism. Yes, it is a German symbol. Yes, the Nazis wore it. No, it was not a Nazi symbol just because they wore it. It has a history that goes back long before the Nazis as an award for service in the German Military. (that’s why new versions and replicas of the WWII crosses are made with a maple leaf and not a swastika, because it was originally a service award and half the Germans who fought in WWII did not do so as Nazis, they did it because it was their duty as countrymen, just like many Americans would fight for their country even if their political affiliation was not the same as the President, ok)
I hope someone has made the OP aware of this and that they need to check their sources before they post misinformation… =A=
