Antonín Chittussi – despite the Italian surname, Antonín first saw the day of light in Bohemia. His father came this region during the Napoleonic era from Ferrara. Chittussi studied in Prague, Munich and Vienna before eventually leaving for Paris in 1879. His work is a mix of realism and impressionism.  This painting is named after a town in the Czech Republic called Prachatice.
