I like Night Vale but the fandom is full of those anime-fangirls.
The ones who draw awkward fan art, cosplay as Cecil, and try to make something like ships and headcanons a thing.
Like no, Night Vale is not about that life. Just enjoy the program, piece together the weirdness of the storylines, and chill out.

Good evening, Night Vale! Our top story today: Tumblr user edenbear-rps has announced that the Night Vale “fandom", whatever that is, is not about fanart, ships and something called a headcanon. Now, you’re probably a bit confused, listeners, and so was I, so I sent Intern Megan off to Tumblr to do a bit of digging. Six hours later, I then sent Intern Pete to look for Megan, since she had not reported in for a while. It took some doing but we finally managed to prise her away from her laptop. She reports that, contrary to Tumblr user edenbear-rps’s claim, that is exactly what the Night Vale fandom is about, although she was unable to explain to me exactly what a fandom is.
She also emailed me this drawing of Carlos she found and let me tell you, listeners, it is gorgeous. The artist has really captured the shine of his perfect hair, the soft, luscious curve of his lips and the bright light of science in his eyes. That is going straight on my pinboard.
Meanwhile, the Sheriff’s Secret Police have issued a statement to Tumblr user edenbear-rps, which simply states, “Don’t like? Don’t look.“ They went on to request that I ask if anyone has any fic recommendations for them, and to say that they prefer fluff but will also read angst as long as it has a happy ending. They’d also like anything rated M or above. So, listeners, if anyone has any recommendations, please whisper the URL into the nearest potted plant.
Oh, I… well. Listeners, Intern Megan has just emailed me another set of drawings. Goodness. I… well, I don’t know who’s been checking the secret cameras in my bedroom, but they have been extremely thorough, and— ahem, yes, looks like they’ve been checking up on Carlos too. I must say, the proportions are right on the money. Very impressive. And what’s thi— oh. Oh, my. I, er…
