this is probably really dumb but why was rose’s hair styling so weird and a bit awful at times compared to amy’s or clara’s? i dont mean the hairstyle i mean how they styled her hair. look at her in sdcg, that was GOOD hair styling.

I don’t know what you’re talking about, I think Rose’s hair is adorable and fitting for a nineteen year old in the mid-2000s. You have to keep in mind, her hair styles were from 2005-2006, and Clara and Amy are from 2010-2013. Also:

Hello, her hair was always perfect okay. And the best part about Rose was her hair was believable, I mean, no one has perfect shining curls and waves while running around planets trying to save the world, yeesh. Amy and Clara’s hair is gorgeous, yeah, but they look like they have a stylist following them around. “Hold on, stop a moment Doctor, my stylist has to fix one of my perfect curls!!”

I remember one of the very first things that struck me when I first started catching DW on TV (S2 had just started airing in the US on the SciFi Channel so I didn’t even know there was a new Doctor Who before I started catching the tail end of episodes while waiting for Battlestar Galactica to start) was that Rose and Mickey looked like real people. Rose especially. On US TV I’m so used to seeing women who are 110% perfectly styled and skinny and bone structure and makeup and clothes and everything even on action shows where they’re all shooty-fighty and running after serial killers in 3-inch heels etc… that I was like *double-take* when I saw Rose. It got my attention, in a really positive way. Billie Piper is a beautiful woman, but it goes to show how much styling goes into making an already-beautiful woman look OMFG FLAWLESS. You can make Billie Piper look like a pretty normal young woman. Or you can make her look like Belle. I’m glad the DW styling team went for the former because that’s what I want to see more of on TV. Television honestly does not need any more perfect Clara hairflips.

I will defend her styling and wardrobe in S1-2 to the death. TO THE DEATH, I SAY.
