But you don’t understand. Effie saw a future with Peeta and Katniss’ children. She saw them living happy, rich, beautiful. She thought that they had finally gotten peace, and she was so happy for them. She wanted to go to their house and play with the kids, teach them all about capitol and the beautiful life. She was not mean or stupid, just born and raised in this culture that she was never truly touched by with feels of fear and hatred. This is one of the first times Effie really feel hate and fear, because in this scene she is truly sorry. Truly sorry that the only two persons that she has seen grow, two of the only persons she loved, are now sent to the certain death. Peeta and Katniss grew to be like Effie’s children, and that is beautiful.
