Today is January 29th.
I’m not sure which is funnier.
- This petition reached its goal in less than a week instead of a month.
- Obama / The White House HAS to respond to petitions with over 100,000 signatures.
I would honestly find this funnier if the net neutrality petition wasn’t still struggling to reach its signatures needed. Like, y’all realize that Bieber being deported would affect exactly fuck-all in any of our lives (be realistic, the media wouldn’t stop talking about him because he’s in Canada) but net neutrality could have a HUGE impact on the way we use the Internet, communicate with friends, share and consume our media, run our businesses, etc. So. If you can sign a petition to have a jerky little asswipe of a pop star deported, why can’t you sign one that could literally keep your life from changing, especially if you’re a content creator or small business owner? Sorry if this sounds preachy but seriously…JFC, people. FUCKING PRIORITIES.
P.S. It only needs 17,000 more signatures. Come on. https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/restore-net-neutrality-directing-fcc-classify-internet-providers-common-carriers/5CWS1M4PFor real though. Sign the net neutrality petition.
Please sign the net neutrality petition it’s really important. Really. And please, everyone, stop making joke petitions. The Death Star one made the signature requirement double, and caused a few important petitions for trans rights to fail. The whitehouse.gov petitions are a really important opportunity and we shouldn’t make a joke of it.
