Frances Abbott received a scholarship for her $60,000 design course where an Abbott donor sits on the board. According to the Guardian the scholarship was seemingly a one-off deal and is not currently offered. Not only is this dodgy considering Abbott failed to declare it as a gift ( which seems to be the case here), it also reeks of hypocrisy that Abbott seeks to deregulate fees and slap higher interests rates on students, while someone like Frances who is well off gets a free education because of her dad’s connections.
