men violently murder women literally every day and men still get offended when women are fucking terrified of them

Because it’s kinda judgmental? Granted my gender isn’t perfect, but neither is yours.

Not that I’m saying that anyone should judge anyone, just saying it’s kinda mean to assume a guy is gonna kill you. It could be a girl, or a transgender person, or a goose.

shut up

Wow. Seriously? You’re just gonna do that? Okay.

Let’s set this up in a deferent scenario.

Women have sex with strangers literally every day and men still get offended when men call them sluts?

The hell? That doesn’t make any sense right? I’m taking a percentage of people and making a judgmental call on their entire population! Wow! I must be a bigot right?

mutually enthusiastically consensual safe sex doesn’t harm anyone and shaming any woman for enjoying something which brings her and her partner pleasure (particularly when men are praised for having as much sex and more) is unacceptable

women have no way of telling which men are a threat to them, so yes, when I’m walking alone at night and there’s a man close behind me, I cross the street, not because I think all men are murderers, but because there is absolutely no way I can distinguish between a lovely man who would make sure I get home safely and a man who would drag me into an alley and brutally murder me (and a man is statistically far more likely to do this to me than a woman) just by looking at them

I’m sorry that you feel that your ego is more valuable than women prioritising their safety

p.s. ‘transgender’ isn’t a gender – trans people are men and women too

Okay. I’m sorry this seems like an Ego thing to you, but it’s not. I understand your concern for your own safety, and that is completely acceptable and justified in that scenario, But what I’m saying is that calling a man a murderer is equal to, if not worse, than calling a woman a slut. I’m saying it’s wrong and people shouldn’t judge someone simply because they are male or female. You should judge them upon actions and personality. Now I know you’re going to look through my blog and find my confession about how I judge people based upon what they look like, but that’s more in the sense of I already know the person, and they’re just not all that intriguing to me.

Now you’re correct, I messed up. Transpeople are people too. I’m sorry.

except that calling a woman a slut is using a misogynistic slur, and nobody is calling a man a murderer here, we’re saying that everybody is a POTENTIAL murderer, and as murderers are statistically much more often male, women avoiding men when they’re vulnerable is not an insult to men, it is an action calculated to protect themselves from any potential harm

This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever read. You’re going to live your whole life assuming everyone is an axe murderer?

I literally said ‘nobody is calling a man a murderer here, we’re saying that everybody is a POTENTIAL murderer’, and before that, ‘women have no way of telling which men are a threat to them, so yes, when I’m walking alone at night and there’s a man close behind me, I cross the street, not because I think all men are murderers, but because there is absolutely no way I can distinguish between a lovely man who would make sure I get home safely and a man who would drag me into an alley and brutally murder me (and a man is statistically far more likely to do this to me than a woman) just by looking at them’.

IT’S NOT ABOUT ASSUMING EVERYBODY IS A MURDERER. IT’S ABOUT ACKNOWLEDGING THAT ANYBODY COULD BE, AND SINCE YOU CAN’T TELL WHO THOSE PEOPLE ARE BY LOOKING, PRIORITISING YOUR SAFETY BY STAYING AWAY FROM OTHERS (AND PARTICULARLY THOSE STATISTICALLY MOST LIKELY TO HURT YOU) WHEN YOU’RE VULNERABLE.
