lanterncat:

I don’t get why people on tumblr don’t like homestuck because:

  • All the trolls are pan. All of them. Gender is not a factor when filling quadrants.
  • They’re also hermaphrodites (or intersex, if you want)
  • The kids don’t have canon races or sizes, so you could literally make them whatever you want to.
  • The trolls have grey skin. You can humanstuck them however you wish.
  • It’s got girls kicking ass and taking names.
  • The characters are all loveable and all have redeeming qualities.
  • It tells you it’s ok to get out of a relationship that you’re not getting anything out of or makes you uncomfortable
  • The music is hella cool.
  • It shows that gay people are normal. And that they can have relationship flaws.
  • There is a canon lesbian relationship.
  • Every ship is canon because of all the timelines. Every. Ship.
  • The art is really cool (yeah you may think it’s weird, but you haven’t seen cascade have you?)
  • The characters have a lot of layers (like a fucking ONION)
  • Sadness isn’t always blatantly sad, it hits like a fucking truck of realization.
  • The story itself is really cool (four kids cause Armageddon to their world in order to become the gods of another world they have to create themselves? AND THERE’S MORE???!!!)
  • Trivia is really fun to read.
  • Despite such a big cast, every character gets some type of development, and that’s really hard to do)
  • It trains you to be able to read longer things.
  • The humans have human problems (substance abuse, unrequited respect, emotion masking, narcolepsy)
  • The trolls have human problems (anger issues, inferiority complex, unrequited love)
  • A male character actually has daddy issues this time.
  • horrorstuck is rEALLY COOL.
  • It teaches you to remember the dead characters, because they might come back and break your heart some more..

Maybe you’re intimidated by the amount of pages there are, or you think the cosplayers are weird, but homestuck is such a good story that it’s all worth it. The first few acts can be boring, yeah, but if you just tried then homestuck can be a fucking great journey.
