As a citizen of Chicago, Illinois I can tell you this is NOT TRUE, although its not completely false either.
If what I’ve been is correct, you’re not allowed to film PRIVATE CONVERSATIONS between officers. However, you can film them doing public work in public and whatnot, as long as you aren’t interfering with their work.
