The Abbott government wants to cut University funding and then fund religious workers and priests at private institutions instead as part of its higher education plan.

“For too long has there been a separation between Church and State. As someone who is against no fault divorce I think that they need to get back together and work out their differences” said Tony.

"It’ll be good for the kids… as long as the kids don’t want to get university education…” commented Pyne, continuing the oddly stretched metaphor.

“Will this religious education cover Islamic teachings or other religions?” asked a naive young journalist.

Tony laughed. “That’s funny. You’re funny. That’s hilarious.” He chuckled some more then suddenly stopped when he saw the journalist’s confused expression.

“Oh you were serious… That’s a no by the way.”
