- Being run by at least one of the Dashcon admins (Cain Hopkins) despite their ’explanation interview’ being a total and monumental failure
- A lot of the text on the Emoti-Con website is taken straight from the Dashcon Facebook page
- The date and venue set for Emoti-Con 2015 is exactly the same as initially set for Dashcon 2015
- The Indianapolis Convention Centre now has the details for Emoti-Con 2015 but still links to the now-defunct Dashcon website
