sparklefaeries:

i’m seeing all these posts about hillary clinton which are definitely important and i’ve reblogged a few

but here in the uk our election is in under a month (7th May). most of the major parties are openly racist (and the one with arguably the best policies for poc has the worst actual poc representation within their party lmao….)

it’s been awful (#food) with the tories for the last 5 years, and it’s only gonna get worse.

our options are limited. i feel like, no matter which party gets in, benefits cuts

(for people out of work, disabed people, etc) are likely to continue, immigration laws are going to be ‘tougher’ (and we all know what that means) and rich people are gonna get even more tax cuts.

for those of us who are able to access politics, it’s really important that we do all we can to reduce these things.

i found these sites pretty helpful as a starter:

voteforpolicies

whoshouldyouvotefor

and the leaders’ debate is available here:

i’m not saying the u.s. election isn’t important, i’m glad this discussion is happening, but please don’t forget about the uk one either. it’s coming up really fast.
