the legend
This makes me so happy, and yet so sad.
He was smart, he was a writer (you could tell by his phrasing) and this is something he TRULY cares about. That boy has a heart and he cares. He sees the truth for what it is and he refuses to sit idly and watch as the youth of america just stumbles by.
BUT the teacher was done. She didn’t care. She was fed up.
BUT the students were uncaring, even laughing, as this young man walked out
BUT this video was put online to be deemed as a joke and embarrass that boy.
THAT is unexceptionable
THAT is not right.
If you are this young gentleman if you are his relative, or if you have ever done something similar.
I am so proud of you
To take your opinion and share. NOT ONCE did he threaten her, NOT ONCE did he raise his voice above a proper projection so that the class could hear his words NOT ONCE did he insult her in any means past how she was behaving with her job. He didn’t undermine her. He didn’t hurt her, and yet he gave his message and left in peace.
That makes him a true, undeniable, super hero in my eyes.
Thank you sir.
My mom, an elementary school teacher, clapped an applauded this boy when I showed this to her.
That boy is great
hot damn this kid knows where it’s at
No, seriously, listen to this guy: “You want kids to come into class, you want ‘em to be excited
for this? You gotta come in here and make
‘em excited. You want a kid to change and start doing better, you gotta
touch his freakin’ heart. And when
you come in here like you did last time and you make a statement about ‘this is
my paycheck,’ indeed it is. But this is my country’s future and my education.”I would ask him to be my TA so fucking fast.
long hair kid for president
His name is Jeff Bliss. This is Duncanville High School in Duncanville, Texas. He dropped out of school his freshman year and decided to take his education seriously and re-enroll. Duncanville high school has almost 4,000 students. 45% are black and 45% are hispanic. I grew up in walking distants from DHS. This is a prime example of the educational inqualities in minority schools.
SQUADDDDDD
Modern Witches
– Nervous witches collecting rainwater in mason jars and purifying it for non visibility spells. Dousing their wrists and necks and behind their ears to prevent unwanted attention.
– Witches brewing tea and coffee and leaving it to sit for days so that the spirits in their homes will be pleased.
– Twenty year old witches squinting at their scrawled runes in a composition notebook in a cramped apartment as they study for exams.
– Witches arming themselves with non-lethal hexes and curses when they have to walk at night in the city because you can never be too careful.
– Witches adopting their black cats from shelters, and maybe several other cats that aren’t black as well.
– Witches creating fairy lights of floating candles that sometimes drip wax on the floor but will refuse to burn the witch’s dwelling.
– Familiars doubling as therapy pets and service dogs.
when you feel sad just remember that the English language has a dedicated verb for sending people links to a Rick Astley music video
Yeah! There’s a really good article about the history and linguistic implications of that verb here.
I know what this is but I’m gonna click it anyway
Anti-villain motivations besides “tragic past”
- They do bad things because they’re scared.
- They’re gullible or misinformed. Example: somebody who has been told the heroes are out to hurt them.
- They are desperate for interaction, validation, kindness, or attention, and the dark side gives them those things.
- They want to change their allegiance, but are pressured by people close to them to stay evil.
- They have an otherwise noble goal that they will do literally anything to achieve. Example: somebody who wants to protect their child, even if it means throwing other children into danger.
