Disabled historical figures that I never hear about being disabled:
- Harriet Tubman (Epileptic)
- Albert Einstein (Learning disability, mental illness, likely autistic)
- Thomas Edison (Deaf)
- Lord Byron (Talipes)
- Ludwig von Beethoven (Deaf)
- Nikola Tesla (Mental illness, likely autistic)
- Charles Darwin (Chronic illness, likely autistic)
- Claude Monet (Blind)
- Joseph Pulitzer (Deaf)
- Ted Kennedy Jr. (Amputee)
- John F Kennedy (Asthma)
- Frida Kahlo (Multiple physical disabilities requiring a brace)
- Vincent Van Gogh (Mental illness)
- Alexander Graham Bell (Dyslexia)
- Agatha Christie (Dysgraphia)
Disabled people have been incredibly prevalent in history, and it’s cool. This list is by no means exhaustive and also is not composed of people that I necessarily like, but it’s cool to see historical figures who were disabled.
