obvious spam mail hoaxes that are bs 99.9999% of the time: kidnappings into the sex trade, needles/nails/poison in dog food/water/etc, HIV infected needles, most everything that says “send this to every woman you know,” gross/fear-inducing food stuff. basically, if it’s trying to scare and panic you and/or asks you to spread it to everyone you know, google it first.
other really common but slightly less obvious ones: putting in your PIN backwards at an ATM, life hack type posts
