Attention Bernie Voters in New York!
It is against the law to wear “passive electioneering” items, i.e. buttons, stickers, and t-shirts to vote.
This law is rarely enforced.
BUT, don’t let that stop you from being allowed to vote on Tuesday! People are already seeing Twitter accounts telling folks to wear their Bernie shirts loud and proud to vote. This is a really sneaky but effective way to suppress Bernie voters.
If you plan on wearing a Bernie shirt on Primary Day, bring another plain shirt or jacket to wear over it. Do not be turned away!
