I definitely don’t remember this from lecture but I cant stop laughing
the prevalence of discarded beer bottles has actually impacted this species pretty badly because they’re so much bigger and more visible than a real female. They are more attracted to the beer bottles.
Not just that, though. Ants have also been observed to wait near the bottles and ambush the beetles after they tire themselves out trying to mate with the bottle, and that’s another reason there are much fewer of them than there used to be.
Imagine dying because some tiny flesh-eating people hung out waiting for you to fuck some actual garbage until you were really tired
Id just like to say that these additions are so much better than anything I could have hoped for.
