I absolutely love how we all thought Mimikyu was going to be some sad and tragic creature that pretends to be Pikachu in an effort to gain affection, rather than the terrifying and vitriolic monster that it actually is
Mimikyu is straight-up the Pokemon equivilant of one of those creatures from folklore that mimics human speech to lure children into the woods and eat them, it’s great

Mimikyu canonically want to get closer to others without accidentally scaring them to death. Team Rocket finding a horrifying one does not mean the rest of the species are like that, especially in an anime known to play fast and loose with game canon.
