alternate suggestion on punching nazis: follow them around shouting the shehecheyanu, a prayer in hebrew that celebrates being alive, until the nazi either clears out or takes a swing at you. then punch them back with a perfectly clear conscience.

aw hell yes. always preferred tanking for outside violence to invoking it.

Actually, I’m reblogging this again with a personal request: sing the Shecheyanu, but sing it like this guy and his bomb-ass choir: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsYlOLPi8P0

Who is this guy, you might ask? Well, he’s Moshe Koussevitzky, a Jewish cantor popular in New York City, particularly Brooklyn, in the 50s and 60s. But what makes him so cool is that he maintained a pro choir, as you can hear from this recording. And what makes him SO AWESOME AND MAXIMUM COOL is that my grandfather and his brother were both in his choir as children!

Koussevitszky left a huge impact on my grandfather, who had a beautiful, commanding, and strong singing voice. He always had such a soft spot for him that he always sang his arrangements for blessings and prayer. I say did, because he had a stroke a few weeks ago that left him largely unable to talk, let alone sing.

I ask all of you, please, sing for my grandfather, the son of Holocaust survivors. The arrangement is easy enough to learn once you know the words to the song (though maybe I’m biased).

Plus, it’s a very annoying version to hear over and over again!
