Everyone knows “Lex Luthor stole forty cakes. That’s as many as four tens. And that’s terrible.” but the whole dang book that’s from is chock full of treasures. The Superdictionary is a masterpiece and I think it’s time for tumblr to rediscover just how gloriously weird it was – a children’s dictionary that used traced art of DC Comics characters to, uh, ineffectively illustrate and define a pretty random assortment of words:

Most things involving Jimmy O. are pretty good.
A couple of years ago, I cut the heck out of my hand on the lid of an aluminum can. As I was trying to staunch the blood with my shirt and put pressure on the wound, something in my terrible, awful brain whispered “Be careful of your skin, Ship. Be careful of the outside covering of your body.”
And now it echoes in my brain every time I hurt myself.
