I love your blog and everything. Do you have any Remus HCs?

feministofthewatertribe:

Thank you so much! I have tons!

  • He had a crush on Lily in his second/third year at Hogwarts but never acted on it
  • This one isn’t mine, but I love it. The reasons Remus chose that specific compartment in POA was because its the compartment the Marauder’s used to sit in.
  • James and Sirius actually found Remus asleep on the Hogwarts Express on their first train ride, rather like Harry and Co. James and Sirius, being rather hyperactive, decided to explore the rest of the Hogwarts Express, bounding to each carriage and talking to loads of students. Remus, exhausted from the last week’s full moon, was asleep in a carriage on his own, and no one wanted to disturb him. James and Sirius woke him up by tickling him with Sirius’ quill and they began talking and became friends.
  • (More of a McGonagall one but) McGonagall was actually a little bit prejudice against werewolves before she met Remus. She believed all of them were bad, like Fenrir. It was the same sort of prejudice that Ron had before meeting Remus (“Don’t touch me, werewolf”). She even advised Dumbledore not to allow Remus into Hogwarts. Remus changed her mind, and after she always reprimanded any Care of Magical Creatures or DATDA teachers for stereotyping against werewolves.
  • He was the main person who Hagrid asked for photos of Harry’s parents of in Harry’s first year. Remus loved taking photos, he found magical photos fascinating. He wanted to record his time with his friends, as they were the happiest times of his life. Remus had actually put all photographs of Lily, Sirius, James and Peter away, because he found it too painful to look at them. He got them out and started sorting through them, a part of him not wanting to give them away, but in the end he just stuffed them all in an envelope and sent them to Hagrid, thinking Harry would probably get more joy out of them than he did.
  • Dumbledore went to visit Remus after the Potters’ death. Remus would barely talk to him, or even look at him. Dumbledore decided to organise the Potters’ funeral, to save Remus some pain.
  • Remus had cups of tea with a couple of students at Hogwarts other than Harry, mostly the outcasts and the timid. One of these students was Ginny. Remus recognised the potential in Ginny, in terms of her magical ability and Remus also suspected something bad had happened to Ginny in her past, making her more withdrawn and feeling out of place with her fellow classmates than she should have been. He recognised this because she kinda reminded him of himself. Remus asked McGonagal about what had happened to Ginny. McGonagal told him about the diary and Remus invited Ginny for cups of tea in his office. Eventually, Ginny guessed that Remus was a werewolf but told him “I know what it’s like to have something terrible controlling you.Just because that something is bad, it doesn’t make you a bad person”. The effect Remus had on Ginny was profound, she felt she could come out of her shell again and be who she was.
  • He wanted to be a teacher for a large majority of his life, but didn’t think it would be possible because of his condition. He used to tutor younger students in DATDA, but he worried that they would realise that he disappeared every full moon so tried to not do it as much as he would like.
  • He was bisexual
  • If Teddy Lupin had been a girl she would have been named Hope, after Remus’ mother and because she was hope in the middle of a war.
  • More people realised that Remus was a werewolf than he ever knew about. After all, he disappeared once every month at the full moon, how could people not catch on? However, the people who caught on were kind and considerate and decided to never confront Remus about it.
  • He wanted to have tea with Harry on Halloween because he knew that it was the anniversary of the Potters’ death. He told himself it was so Harry wouldn’t be alone, but really it was so neither of them had to be alone.
  • Despite the fact that James and Sirius were more brilliant than him, it was Remus who learnt how to cast a Patronus first out of the Marauders, even though James and Sirius were the brains behind learning to become animagus. Perhaps it was because Remus treasured happy memories more than the other Marauders.
