Ok guys, I know everyone is sick of hearing about Australian politics by now but this is important
The Liberal Party is planning on scrapping the current NBN plans for faster internet. Instead, they want to go with a far less advanced solution using the copper wiring already in place, which dates back to the 1920s.
Basically this means that we’ll be stuck with shitty slow internet, leaving us far behind many other countries and not preparing us for the growing dependency on technology in the future.
This petition is urging the Liberal Party to stick to the current NBN plans. There’s been over 200,000 signatures so far but another 62,5000 signatures are still needed.
I don’t know about you, but slow internet makes me want to throw my computer off a cliff and I really don’t want to have that feeling permanently for the next few years.
