it really does help. leaving the mindset of constant self deprecation behind is so good for growth and recovery

for the longest time i used all that as a “coping mechanism” and looking back it was so hindering and counter productive. i’m still unlearning it since it seems so natural and easy. but that doesn’t make it the best option

be kind to yourself. resist giving into the side of you that just wants to cope by ‘joking’ about self hate. listen to people who have self care ideas, even if they seem silly. they just want to help you help yourself. it’s okay to practice self love and work on recovery
