When I asked my grandmother if I could use her sewing machine, after she set it up, she drew my attention to these sewing scissors that she had stashed nearby. “These,“ she told me, “were your great-grandmother’s scissors. You may use them to snip your thread.” My great-grandmother was a legendary seamstress. Sewing was not just her profession, but her passion. After she passed, my grandmother said, our relatives in Scotland held onto the scissors for her. My great-grandmother, my grandmother, my mother, and now I have all loved to sew. The fact that I was holding these scissors in my hand…it felt like I was continuing Gran’s legacy. It was a rite of passage. Sewing is in my blood; these scissors represent that.
And I used them to sew my fucking Nyan Neko Sugar Girls cosplay.
at least great gran will look down upon you and think “damn her boobs look nice in that cosplay"
