We have severe derealization/depersonalization issues that we’ve been hospitalized for (as part of our Dissociative Amnesia) and if anybody ever did this to us it would probably lead to us being hospitalized again. So yeah. Maybe not. Anybody who does this is completely full of bullshit.

You do not know how it will affect someone. You do not know what it will do to someone. This is a really awful thing to do, especially if you end up doing to to someone who has issues with depersonalizaiton, derealization or any other reality issues.
It’s not cute, it’s not funny, you could seriously damage someone by doing this. Even if you think you know them, this may be a thing they haven’t shared with you.
Don’t ever fucking do this to anyone.
