Wallcreeper (Tichodroma muraria)

… is a small species of songbird in its own family found in the high mountains of Eurasia. Like most songbirds the wallcreeper is quite small but long growing up to 6.7 inches in adulthood (probably to have a large surface area when climbing steep rocks). It is a greyish color similar in hue to a dipper, it also has red markings on and under its wings. The name wallcreeper as you may of guessed comes from its habit to climb and roost on steep rock faces, like treecreepers with trees. the fact that it uses it’s wings to balance itself out whilst climbing supports the ground up evolutionary hypothesis.
