Guys. Guys. Her birthday guys. Her birthday though. MOFFAT WHAT HAVE YOU GOT PLANNED I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THIS IS COINCIDENCE.
I just read this: “Clara’s headstone in 1892 states that she was born on 23 November 1866 and that she died in 24 December 1892, meaning she not only shares the same birthday (though not the year) as Doctor Whoitself but that she was also 26-years-old when she died — the same age as Doctor Who was when it was cancelled in 1989.”

Hmm. Further adding to my Clara-is-the-personification-of-Doctor-Who-and-the-Great-Intelligence-is-probably-metatextual-reference-to-fandom theory.
OH MY GOD I’M SO GLAD I’M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO ACTUALLY NOTICED THIS
The Great Intelligence is not a reference to the fandom. Moffat did not come up with it. It was the monster in the Second Doctor episodes The Abominable Snowmen and The Web of Fear. (both of which are really good episodes, and Web of Fear introduces the Brigadier go watch them). In the christmas special the Doctor gives the Great Intelligence a tin with a 1967 map of the London Underground on it… which just happens to be where Web of Fear is set.
