monster factory is actually something i unironically encourage you to watch if you want to make really unique characters. i think a lot of people still get hung up on trying to make cute or aesthetically pleasing characters and mosnter factory is really good way at whacking you on the head with hideous bad to see characters that everybody absolutely adores and i think it gives you more confidence to get really crazy with your designs
