Please spread this around Tumblr. Yahoo has a history of swiftly killing sites on short notice, even if they have a large userbase like Tumblr. There is an independent group of archivists called the Archive Team dedicated to backing up these sites and integrating them into the Wayback Machine. If Yahoo does follow through with their plan to kill Tumblr and Flickr, you could really help the Archive Team save them by donating bandwidth with the Archive Team Warrior.

so this is basically that group, SpringOwl!, basically giving their input on what Yahoo! needs to do to save themselves. this is not acutally Yahoo!’s plans for the future: which is why it is vehemently critical of the current CEO, Melissa Mayer. if this was Yahoo! trying to tell their shareholders not to be concerned with their money, they wouldn’t be talking about how godawful and incompetent their CEO is so they should keep giving them their money anyway. “yeah uh our CEO is the worst thing to happen in the history of our company but plz keep giving us money uvu” is not a way to reassure your shareholders
that being said? it’s a great read. In particular, if you’re interested in knowing why Melissa Mayer is so hated and why people consider her incompetent (very important as she’s the ultimate owner of tumblr, even though it has a separate CEO: she’s the boss of the boss). i personally recommend jumping to Page 26 and reading onwards. or start from the beginning if you wanna know more about Yahoo!’s situation. it’s actually a pretty good read
but no. this is not Yahoo!’s actual plan for the future. the screenshot in particular can be found on Page 91: this is not Yahoo!’s plans. This is what SpringOwl! feels is best for Yahoo! as a whole.
