She really fits no tropes that I can think of for a female scientist

She isn’t extremely attractive and doesn’t seem to be trying to dress up

She isn’t a cutesy teenage girl who is smart because it’s one of her “quirks” that makes her adorable

She isn’t there to be the cute lab partner manic pixie dream girl

She doesn’t use science to become an all-powerful goddess because she had no power or beauty before.

She doesn’t treat her experiments like her own children. She has no need to be a mother. She treats them like friends, or she doesn’t care about them at all, like with the evil fanfiction book.

Hilda fights with one of the main male characters without any sense of being his love interest
