I have never seen this! A 1924 photo of a black escape artist! I wonder what his name was and what his act was like!

I don’t know who it is in the picture, but the picture itself was taken by James Van Der Zee who was very popular during the Harlem Renaissance and known for his pictures of Black New Yorkers like these:
