the victoria secret models don’t even look human??

The Victoria’s Secret models worked their butt off to look like that, so don’t degrade people on their hard work. All the women in this post are beautiful.

THANK YOU

Also keep in mind that they are both marketing campaigns. Dove’s marketing technique here is to sell confidence so you’ll look upon other companies (like Victoria’s Secret) with scorn and buy Dove products instead because they’re one of the only companies selling body positivity right now. (But more of those are starting to emerge after the success of Dove’s campaign.) Victoria’s Secret’s technique is what most of the beauty industry does – sells that you are imperfect and that their products will make you desirable. But don’t think for one second that Dove is just doing that to retaliate against body image issues. It’s just another marketing technique, and it has been a successful one because of the rise of feminism and body positivity. They timed this perfectly for our generation. Had feminism not gotten a push in recent years though this campaign may have actually failed or never come to be in the first place. It’s another way to make money. They went about it a more consumer-friendly way but at the end of the day it is ALWAYS and ONLY about making money.
