I mean all of them. People telling the fandoms to shut up, calling their memes unfunny and just ragging them out.

I’ve mostly seen this in terms of Sherlock, particularly from the Star Trek and Hobbit fandoms. Yes, the Sherlock fandom can get overenthused and some of their in-jokes are as worn out and thread bare as their sanity, but to forbid them from “ruining your fandom” and “not bring their crap in” per-emptively is a bit much, don’t you think? After all, mostly their just being silly. It’s not harming anyone.

And yes, the Sherlock fandom you have been just as mean too, particularly to elementary. Yes the creation of their show deserved to be side-eyed but it’s important to remember that the people who decide what shows go onto the air are NOT the people making the shows. Ask Community and Firefly (if they ever stop sobbing). The CBS execs who saw Sherlock Holmes was now the “New Vampire Craze” and wanted a slice of the action are the ones you should be irritated with, not the elementary writers, cast or crew, who just want to create their own take on it. (I’ve been just as bad in this regard and I repent. I still think Sherlock is far FAR better but Elementary isn’t the sign of the end times).

And this goes out to generally everyone (as though you care). I think we have to remember what John Green says about being a nerd.

And YOU don’t get to decide why or how people are unironically enthusiastic. Whether it be with the lame not-my-division-jam-hedgehog jokes, long rants about psychoanalysis of the characters or gay porn fanart, people will like what they like in their own way. It doesn’t stop you from liking it in your own.

PLUS IT’S THEIR FUCKING BLOG YOU DON’T LIKE WHAT THEY POST DONT FUCKING GO THERE
