“Earlier this year I wrote in the eBulletin regarding my desire to have greater uniformity of hem lengths on the girls’ skirts and dresses. Although there has been some success in bringing about a change in this area, the current ‘four finger above the knee’ rule, has been problematic for staff to police. Many staff have commented to me that they feel this rule is very ambiguous and they feel uncomfortable attempting to measure skirt lengths. As a result, it has been decided that from the beginning of 2015 all skirts and dresses will be required to be ‘to the knee’. This will, hopefully, remove the subjective nature of this issue.”

maybe the staff feel uncomfortable about it because you’re asking them to scrutinise girls’ skirts in EVERY SINGLE CLASS and they are uncomfortable with looking at girls’ skirts
