so a 21 year old white man walked into a black church tonight in Charleston and opened fire killing eight people. This person is a terrorist but I’m willing to bet all the money I have and all the money I will ever make that he will not be labeled as such because he’s a white man and not brown and/or muslim

horrifying fun fact of the day: so greenwich village, which is the neighborhood in nyc where the stonewall riots took place and which was a v important gay center from like the 50s-80s, is now super swanky and full of touristy boutiques and expensive apartments and stuff. st vincent’s, the local hospital which had the first aids ward on the east coast, closed a couple years ago and is being replaced with luxury condos. all of this is sad enough, BUT i just found out that one of the reasons it’s so gentrified now is that the aids crisis was really awesome for real estate. ppl were dying in thousands and leaving empty apartments behind, which their landlords would then rent at higher prices until only rich ppl could afford to live there 🙂

Freddie Gray was carrying a switchblade of legal size, Freddie Gray’s murderers unabashedly failed to provide him proper medical care under their custody, Freddy Gray fell into a coma after an hour of his confrontation with the police. Police officers in Baltimore are ready and prepared to go on CNN and discuss the number of cracks on their windshield but will not and cannot explain to you why Freddie Gray was targeted on April 12th, 2015.
