the big mistake with live-action zelda would be to give it a generic medieval aesthetic. zelda is the series where the ancient goddesses build meso-american tron temples, I don’t want to see mucky scottish castles and jousting

I want a Zelda game to have all MesoAmerican and Ancient Chinese aand Japanese Architecture for the dungeons.

I’m watching through an LP of Breath of the Wild and I keep thinking of this post, because I happened to watch this video about Japanese self-mummifying monks just a day before I started watching the LP, and then there they are in all the shrines giving you spirit orbs.

And wikipedia’s just told me that ocarinas are Chinese and Mesoamerican, which I think is very played out in the Ocarina of Time designs.

Anyway yeah Zelda’s influences are extremely multicultural so don’t let the fact that the main duo look vaguely Tolkieny most of the time fool you.
