Doctor in Distress

Back in 1985 this song was released to protest against the fact that Doctor Who was going on hiatus. Some Doctor Who alumni (Colin Baker, Nicola Bryant, Nicholas Courtney and Anthony Ainley) sing the history of the show alongside some actual pop stars who were (sort of) popular at the time. These include Bobby G (Bucks Fizz), Justin Hayward and John Lodge (The Moody Blues), Rick Buckler (The Jam) and Warren Cann (Ultravox).

I think virtually anyone with intact ears would agree this is an awful song. As a piece of music, it is dreadful. However, it is quite pleasing from a Doctor Who fan’s perspective- it makes you feel warm inside. And embarrassed.
