rishtaywaliaunty:

Following the heinous attack by the Taliban on a school in Peshawar, there is likely to be a high incidence of anxiety, depression and PTSD (Post-traumatic stress disorder) amongst the surviving children and grieving families. Meanwhile there are only 21 psychiatrists licensed to provide services to a nation of more than 180 million people so clearly there is going to be an acute shortage of access to mental health services…unless we do something about it…

So this is a call out to all mental health counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, etc. – Naya Jeevan is coordinating a Mental Health action plan and will cover your travel expenses to Peshawar to provide both acute and ongoing psychiatric services to child survivors and grieving families.

Everyone else – please spread this message as wide as possible so that we can mobilise a recovery and rehabilitation team quickly. RISE ABOVE!

qalbee:

Reminder that over two-thirds of American and Western media sources openly link Muslims with extremism and terrorism. Meaning the attack in Peshawar will be watered down to “Muslims killing themselves as usual” and desensitize this massacre.

Don’t allow that to happen. Talk about it. Contextualize it. These lives were taken away by oppressors who shouldn’t be associated so easily with the lives they took.

fatima-thinks:

We all stood together for Syria
We all stood together for Ukraine
We all stood together for Gaza
We all stood together for Ferguson

It’s time we stand together for Pakistan, and spread what’s happening there like wildfire. Don’t let people forget that the citizens of Pakistan are so much more than what we’re portrayed as in the negative light. Make sure everyone KNOWS what the Pakistani protestors are doing right now and the cause they’re fighting for.

ammaasante:

please stop calling terrorists ‘muslims’ because no matter what they claim to believe, you should not validate it. you should not recognise their actions as islamic. you should not associate their violent extremities with the values of the millions of peaceful muslims around the world. you should not be forcing real muslims to have to constantly reaffirm their identities.

cranberriesofficial:

do not ignore pakistan. do not pretend like pakistan is not suffering. do not pretend that pakistan is not important enough to post about right now.
