can you imagine? your teenage son killed on christmas eve? shot and left bleeding for 3 hours outside a gas station literally bc he allegedly matched the description of a burglar? in 2014?
i feel immense anguish and empathy for antonio martin’s family and also cannot even begin to fathom what his mother is going through right now. white supremacy is simply so pervasive that this sort of reality is something i will never be forced to encounter
I’ve had conversation with family friends who are former cops and they’ve all said the same thing. That cops are not supposed to kill. Period point blank. In a situation where they feel endangered they are supposed to call for back up and shoot to maim i.e shooting the person in the leg. Even before then they are supposed use their tasers, batons, pepper spray, hand-to-hand training, handcuffs and any other non lethal method at their disposal to subdue the person with minimal injuries. This is something that is reiterated through out their training. The fact that these cops are killing shows that they are doing it because they know they can get away with it.
okay if you believe the police account, even for a second, just think

3. why would a black teenager in st. louis county pull a gun on a police officer
it’s been reported by multiple folks on the scene of Antonio Martin’s shooting that police left him to die without getting medical assistance, he could have survived had they made the effort. so not only was he 18 and unarmed, even when they made the exaggerated move of taking him down for whatever reason and he was helpless on the ground no longer posing a threat to em (if there even was a threat) they left him to die.

This is so horrible this black female cop Cariol Horne saw a cop getting out of control during an arrest and she tried to stop him. She was punched in the face by the officer and was then fired her and stripped her of her pension, this happened in 2006 and she is still fighting to get her pension from hr 19 years as a police officer. She is one of those ‘good cops’ people like to mention and yet she is being punished for doing whats right.
And on top of this Gregory Kwiatkowski the white cop involved wit the case got in to yet another incident in 2010 where he used excessive force during an arrest of black teen boys (one of which was the son of a Bufflo police officer), not only was he charged with excessive force but two of his partners were also charged with shooting one of the boys with a bb gun they confiscated from the kid while he was handcuffed in the car during that arrest. Thankfully none of the kids were killed.
If people dont get that these white cops are out of control they are lying to themselves, they are not only reckless and violent but because they are protected they can get away with shyt only to do it again to someone else. And as we can see black cops aren’t awarded that same privilege when they cross the ‘blue line’.
