oh shit dude detective pony. i almost forgot about detective pony. so listen, idk how many of you have read it already… you remember sonnetstuck? a couple years ago they… wrote dirk’s whole detective pony parody. like in proper altered book format and everything. just as the comic describes, it goes progressively off the deep end and becomes entirely dirk’s writing and is indeed a “tough, emotionally draining read, but cathartic, in all the worst ways possible”
it’s a tour de force tbh and i would actually recommend it to people who don’t like homestuck too, you honestly don’t need any more knowledge of hs than “this kid dirk, who is really pretentious, decided to write over a pony pals book as a birthday gift to his friend jane”, it’s just. a really entertaining and good read
i’m too tired to make a proper pitch for why you should give it a shot rn but suffice to say, it has a lengthy parody of a derrida essay reworked to be about meme analysis instead, and if that doesn’t sell you on it idk what would? go read it trust me it’s worth it
